Ali is one of our Classic models and is ALWAYS on the go; she's always working, always being a kickass mum & regularly updating her instastories with details about her day. We don't know how she fits it all in! But we had a quick interview with her to find out.
Tell us a bit about yourself?
I’m a model and actress from London. Married and mum of two little ones.
Who (or what) inspired you to become a model?
I’ve always been interested in fashion. Growing up as a teenager I looked up to the original 90s supermodels, Christy, Cindy, Naomi etc.
What are your best beauty secrets?
Always cleanse your skin properly morning and night. I never ever skip good cleansing.
Make sure you regularly clean your makeup brushes (I do it once a week)
Last tip is to use SPF. I really regret not taking better care of my skin in my teens and early twenties. Now I do not leave the house without having applied SPF on the backs of my hands, neck and face. The neck and hands are always on show and also show signs of ageing quicker, so don’t forget to protect them too.
What top 3 things are always in your bag?
My iPhone! I cannot go without my phone, being self employed I run my whole life from it! Plus I am always snapping photos to load up into social media and my current addiction is Instagram Stories. You can usually see me chatting away to my phone, adding little stories.
Tissues and hand sanitizer! I’m a mum so you need to have these on hand all the time.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would that be?
I think it would have to be a great city like Sydney where you also have the option of going to the beach.
Favourite Food?
You can’t beat a good curry, I don’t have them often but when I do it’s a real treat.
What do you do in your spare time?
I’m a mum of two little ones so there isn’t much “spare time” these days for me! we usually do things as a family. Catching up on Netflix box sets on the sofa with hubby too.
What was your favourite modelling job so far?
My most exciting job was probably getting to meet Russell Crowe and Ridley Scott working on a film called A Good Year. Not going to lie I was a little star stuck! I even had my own trailer!
Which Spice girl are you?
I loved the Spice Girls, I would say I am more Baby spice.
Any tips for anyone getting into the industry?
Learn to not take things too personally, it can be hard to accept rejection when it’s often based on your appearance. I have learnt that over the years to not take it too much to heart. Be punctual and always be professional on shoots.
