Tell us a bit about yourself?
I'm 47 but only came to modelling 5 years ago. I grew up on the island of Bute, Scotland.....very different to London , where I've lived since leaving art school where I studied Fine Art.
Who (or what) inspired you to become a model?
My aunt was a model in the 60s , and was one of the original Flake girls, but I didn't have the confidence to pursue this idea when I was younger.
I'd been going grey since I was 16 but it wasn't until I spotted a striking white haired model (Pam Lucas) in the Guardian mag one Saturday that I thought of my hair colour as an attribute . I hadn't seen any other models with hair that colour til then, and she was definitely my inspiration. We have since worked together , and she likes this story !
What are your best beauty secrets?
I try not to use heat on my hair too much, sleep as much as I can , and get fresh air!
What top 3 things are always in your bag?
My phone, a lip salve, water.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would that be?
Somewhere by the sea.
Favourite Food
Cheese . Of any description.
What do you do in your spare time?
I love making clothes , and also like a good rummage through charity and vintage shops.
What was your favourite modelling job so far?
One of my first jobs was for a personal project for the photographer Perou. He had me dressed as a white witch, with long white hair extensions and the most incredible outfits in various locations, including standing in dark lake....I loved every second ! It was hard to go back to wearing normal clothes afterwards.
Which Spice girl are you?
Posh....though I'm much smilier!
Any tips for anyone getting into the industry?
Never give up!
