Shalini is relatively new to RMG but she's already a firm favourite with us at the agency and our clients too! We asked her a few quick questions about La Vie en Rose!
Who/what inspired you to become a model?
As a young girl I grew up looking up to models like Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schiffer etc and there was such an interesting appeal and the fact that I thoroughly enjoyed being in-front of the camera made me realise how passionate I was. I then moved on with dance and theatre performance which gave me an extra boost. I believe in bringing my true identity infront of the camera lens and that has helped me in this modelling journey.
If you could live anywhere in the world where would you move to?
I have lived in a few countries but my heart has always belonged to Srilanka. I was born and bred in Srilanka. I still crave that island living lifestyle. Even though I am currently residing in the UK I would happily move back to Srilanka. Being born in to an island means you’d always desire the sun and sea and that good island tropical vibes.
How would your best friend describe you?
She’d say I am extremely honest and a hard dedicated soul.
What are your best beauty secrets?
I don’t own any make-up, even though I’ve been a model for more than a decade I still don’t own any products, unless I’m on set I never wear any makeup. I let my skin heal and take a breather. The only product I really believe in is Coconut oil. My momma always say ‘coco love to the rescue’
If you could have any super power what would it be?
To heal people and to be able close the gap of poverty.
What are you currently reading?
The Gypsy by Paulo Cohelo (one of my favourite authors of all time)
If you win the lottery what would you do first?
I would give majority of that price money to an orphanage to support children in care and then I’d probably buy a one way to ticket to explore the worlds best beaches for surfing.
What are your top 3 life goals?
To be present in every moment, To be kind, To find happiness in all the small details of life.
What tips would you give someone entering the industry?
Be YOU - in order to do justice to your souls purpose.
